GAUTENG REGION
Message from the Chairperson
It gives me great pleasure to serve as SAPI Chair for Gauteng, particularly one of the largest regions within the organization.
This is a truly exciting time for planning and planners given the vision of the ruling party and government priorities which were mentioned in Presisdent Zuma's State of the Nation Address. We must take up our space as planners and participate in the review of legislation pertinent to a well planned developmental state and improving the lives of the poor and the disadvantaged. The Gauteng branch is also pleased with its increase in membership. I am hoping that the members within the profession will increase over the coming months. We are hoping to reach out to more planning students and recently qualified graduates.
The Committee Members and I look forward to serving SAPI as well as learning and sharing planning experiences. Future events will be posted on the website.
