SAPI Western Cape Annual General Meeting

We would like to invite you to attend the Western Cape South African Planning Institute 2010 Annual General Meeting which will take place between 6pm and 9pm at the Cape Town Hotel School, Beach Road, Mouille Point on the 11th of August 2010. At this years AGM our keynote speaker will be Donald Cupido, Manager Integrated Transport Planning at City of Cape Town. We will will also be distributing SAPI member certificates on behalf of the national branch at the event. Your attendance is important in contributing to the operations of the WC SAPI branch as the representatives of professional planners in the Western Cape. Please diarise this event and we will distribute the formal invite and draft agenda shortly. RSVP are due by the 28th of July at the latest to sapiwc@gmail.com.

Western Cape Development Parameters - Draft for Comment

The draft development parameters document issued by DEADP - the purpose of these guidelines is to provide guidance to the public provision of public facilities and services - as well as an explantory memorandum drafted to place these development guidelines in context. Comment on this document closes on the Friday 23 July - we willing be submitting a composite response from SAPI Western Cape, if you could submit comment by at the latest 15 July to give us time to compile the various responses - please email sapiwc@gmail.com.

Coastal Setback Lines

The draft report for the 'Development of a methodology for coastal setback lines in the Western Cape' was made available for comment from the 3rd May 2010 until the 17th May. PLEASE NOTE: The comment period has been extended for an additional 11 days until the 28th May 2010.

The document deals with the following objectives:
- The development of a methodology for defining and adopting coastal development setback lines.
- Test the methodology in the Cape Town Metropolitan area and in the Saldanha Bay Municipal area in consultation with the City of Cape Town and the Saldanha Bay Municipalities.
